Gear to Grant Pitch First round winner in Social Challenge
Exciting news!
I'm honored to share that my pitch for Gear to Grant: Closing the Gap in Youth Sports was selected as a Round 1 Winner this past April in the Mott Million Dollar Challenge.
I started Gear to Grant in 8th grade after seeing how the rising cost of sports equipment and participation was preventing kids from playing the sports they love. Since then, my goal has been simple: help ensure that every kid has the opportunity to play, grow, and belong through sports.
Out of more than 5,300 student submissions nationwide, Gear to Grant was recognized as one of 300 winning projects in the Grades 9–12 Social Challenge division.
Huge thank you to Mott Million Dollar Challenge, Mott Foundation, NFTE, VentureLab, Young Entrepreneur Institute, Afterschool Alliance for the opportunity. This recognition motivates me to keep working toward a future where every kid has the chance to play.
Congratulations to the winners who competed in Flint, Michigan, last week. I'm inspired by the awesome ideas shared by students across the country and look forward to seeing the impact they will make in their communities.
