Gear to Grant is rooted in a simple belief: many of us got our start because someone shared what they had. It may have been an older sibling passing down cleats, a neighbor lending a glove, a coach offering encouragement, or a family member making sure we had the chance to play. Those moments are more than generosity. They are acts of support, love, and belief that can shape a kid’s future.

Today, too many kids are kept on the sidelines by the rising cost of sports. Equipment, registration fees, uniforms, and other expenses can place opportunities out of reach for families and create barriers to participation.

That is why Gear to Grant exists.

We collect quality donated sports equipment, restore it with care, and turn it into new opportunities for the next generation. Through shared gear, community partnerships, and Gear Grants that help cover participation costs, we work to make sports more accessible for kids.

But our mission is about more than equipment. It is about confidence gained through play, friendships formed on teams, lessons learned through hard work, and the joy of being part of something bigger than yourself.

We are simply carrying forward the same spirit that helped so many of us begin: people helping people, communities lifting one another up, and every kid getting the chance to step onto the field, chase their potential, and belong.
